Family Obligations and Their Roles in Medea and Force Majeure Maternal and paternal instinct drive many family obligations, one major obligation being caring for your children and making sure that they survive. This one theme is tested in both Force Majeure and Medea and if it wasn’t, there would be no driving plot to either works. In Force Majeure, Ebba and Tomas’ relationship strains are created as a result of Tomas abandoning his family during the avalanche that happens. As a parent, one is expected to think of their children first in a life or death situation and preserve their offspring at all costs. Tomas tends to stray from that ideal and at the beginning of the movie it is hinted at that Tomas has â€Å"been working so much† and â€Å"now he has time to focus on his family†. Already one can infer that life can get pretty stressful for the husband and wife if the one is always away and focused on work and not so much raising the kids. Mothers as wel l as fathers also are expected to maintain a maternal instinct as well. We see that Ebba is very maternal in her values and attitudes towards her kids as it’s shown that throughout the movie. In addition to physically protecting your children, a parent also has an obligation to emotionally protect their kids. Male Rape Victims What is rape, and to whom does it happen? Generally speaking, rape is a violent sexual act imposed on a nonconsenting partner that makes you question many things about yourself. Unfortunately the mythology usually surrounding rape is that it only happens to women. The fact is, rape does not only happen to women, but men as well. It is one of the most misunderstood of all crimes, and when the victim is male, understanding why it has happened, is one of the hardest things to comprehend. When I first learned about rape, I thought that it was something that only happened to women that was brought on by a male. Growing up, one doesnt hear about male rape. It was unheard of. Over the years, male rape has been showing up in more films, and on television, opening the eyes of the public viewers to something that has long been put on the back burner so to speak. It is in this movie that you see the main character, Derek get violently raped by another man in the shower. It is a very disturbing scene that you would think would make one feel very bad for the victim. The branch manager of the specific branch had enables to initiate the corrective forms of workplace measures to reduce the employee conflicts. However, the recognition of the correct approach had been lacking by the personality. Thus, the present study had evaluated on the leadership styles the brand actually follows. Similarly, it has also highlighted the corrective traits, which the leaders within the organization require to initiate to introduce the positive changes.
